If your website gets a lot of bot activity then you may want to stop the bots from incrementing the download count of your downloads.
The simple download monitor plugin has a feature that you can use to let the plugin handle this for you automatically.
Step 1) Go to the settings menu of this plugin then enable the following checkbox:
Do Not Count Downloads from Bots
Step 2) Save the settings.
Now, the plugin will ignore any download attempts from any of the following bots.
