Display by date

Hi, I read through all the versatile ways we can display downloads.

I am using the plugin to display back-issues of a magazine. Is there a way to use the “Published date” in the shortcode to display files that were published in a particular year?

At the moment I have a workaround where there is a category for each year and I display using:

[sdm_show_dl_from_category category_slug="2016" fancy="2" button_text="Download" orderby="date" order="desc"]
