I’ve been looking for a while now for a plug-in that suits my needs. This one seems almost perfect except that I need downloads only for people who are logged in. I see you do a shared password system but can I check there is no logged in download option?

Also, auto file size and thumbnail would be amazing but I could live without that if it permitted logged in downloads.

There is a feature to allow only logged-in users to download the items.

Go to the settings menu of the Download Monitor plugin then enable the following option:

Only Allow Logged-in Users to Download

Alternatively, you can also use a membership plugin like our WP eMember to protect the posts/pages that contains the downloads:

WordPress Membership Plugin – WP eMember

That way only the members who are logged-in can see the download items and download.
