You are here: / / open download in new window
I suppose this is a feature request, since the “open download in a new window” does what it says, but not what I hoped for when I saw the feature listed.
What I would really like to be able to do is have a click on a download link/button result in both the downloading of the file and the loading of a new fully customizable “Thanks for downloading foo” page. This could either happen in a new window or the existing window.
In fact, I don’t remember seeing this feature in any of the download manager/monitor type plugins I’ve tested so far. Is there a reason I’m not aware of that prevents such a feature?
I agree on this.
Manually done this to one of my project, using cookie (manually edit the plugin script) and pass it with parameter, use get variable and set condition to display “Thank you… etc”.
I hope this should be part of the program.
We are currently working on a solution that will offer the option to redirect the visitor to another page after the download. Handling this functionality is a little bit tricky. We have to do this in a way that will have a consistent behavior for this functionality across the different server setups.
